Bubble Protection - What is Bubble Protection?

Bubble Protection - Sometimes call MTT Early Bird, Is a free promotion that gives players who pre-register for selected tournaments a chance to win their buy-in back in T$ if they fall just short of the paid places, conditions apply so please read the rest of the FAQ.


Bubble Protection - How do I know if a tournament has Bubble Protection?

Eligible tournaments clearly display the Bubble Protection symbol and description in the lobby and listings.

Bubble Protection - Do I still get Fish Buffet points as well as Bubble Protection?

Yes, These are separate promotions and one will not affect the other. Standard Fish Buffet collection rules apply if you enter before or after the event starts.


Bubble Protection: - How many places before the money are considered to be the ‘Bubble’?

Bubble Protection - Does the way I register for a tournament affect Bubble Protection?

Yes. To be eligible for Bubble protection you must register directly to the target event before the event begins using Cash or T$Players who enter the event via any kind of ticket or via a Satellite or Express Satellite or after the event has started will not be eligible for Bubble Protection.


Bubble Protection - How is my buy-in refunded via Bubble Protection?

Your buy-in will be returned to you if you are eliminated in one of the designated Bubble Protection places in T$ (tournament dollars).


Bubble Protection - I finished on the bubble in an eligible tournament but have not received my payment. What’s going wrong?

To get a buy-in refund the following criteria must be met

  • Register for the event before the start time
  • Use Cash or T$ to buy in (Satellite entries and Ticket entries do not qualify)
  • Finish in one of the bubble positions 
  • There were more than 10 players in the event

Bubble Protection - I registered before an event started, was eliminated and I wish to re-enter. Do I still have Bubble Protection?

Yes. Your Bubble Protection will carry over to all entries in the event providing you follow the standard Bubble protection rules of buying in directly with Cash or T$, re-entries made by Satellite, Express Satellite or Tickets will not be eligible for Bubble Protection


Bubble Protection - When does the Bubble Protection period end for each tournament?

The Bubble Protection period ends when the tournament starts. If you late register for the tournament you will not be eligible for Bubble Protection.


Bubble Protection - Do backers share Bubble Protection?

No. Staking does not apply to Bubble Protection or vice versa.


Bubble Protection - How much of my buy-in goes to pay for this?

None, Bubble Protection simply rewards you for showing up on time to your tournaments, It's a totally free promotion.


Bubble Protection - What tournament types are eligible for Bubble Protection?

  • Daily Guarantees
  • Bounty Hunters (excluding Speed Racers)
  • Omaholic

Checking the tournament lobby for any event will confirm if Bubble Protection is being offered.


Bubble Protection - Is it available for Satellites?

No, only direct buy-in tournaments, please check the lobby for further details.


Bubble Protection - How can I check I got paid my T$?

Go to Cashier > Transaction History and Filter for T$, alternatively check the tournament lobby if the event is still running and it was show your prize.


Bubble Protection - What happens if multiple players are eliminated at once around the bubble of the tournament?

When the 'bubble' is about to occur in a tournament then the event will switch to 'hand for hand' mode, this means that a new hand will not begin until all tables left in the event have completed the current hand. In this scenario the time of elimination will not determine the finishing order of players, however, the number of chips each player started that hand with will be the deciding factor. With the eliminated player with the largest stack at the start of the hand being placed highest. Further places will also be decided via this method with the player with the smallest starting stack being placed last out of the eliminated players.


Bubble Protection - I bought staking off a player and I believe they intentionally tried to finish on the Bubble to avoid paying me, what can I do?

Staking and Bubble Protection are completely separate things, Bubble Protection is a free promotion for players who pre-register for tournaments and anything earned from the Bubble Protection promotion belongs to the player, it is not shared with backersPlus, it is virtually impossible to attempt to finish on the bubble in a tournament deliberately as so many variables are beyond the control of players.


Bubble Protection - Is there a minimum/maximum number of players needed for Bubble Protection to be paid out?

10 is the minimum number of players needed for Bubble Protection to be offered, there is no maximum field size.


Bubble Protection - What are the terms & conditions?

  • Players must be aged 19 and above to participate in this promotion.
  • Bubble Protection may not be available for certain tournaments.
  • Bubble Protection will not be available for tournaments with fewer than 10 entrants.
  • Bubble Protection will only be made available to players that register using cash or T$. Covered players that are knocked out on the bubble will receive their compensation automatically.
  • Bubble Protection is not available for players who register for the relevant tournaments after the tournaments have begun.
  • GGPoker reserves the right to add or cancel Bubble Protection for any tournaments at any time.
  • GGPoker reserves the right to modify or suspend the promotion at any time.
  • If any players fall under suspicion of fraudulent activity, GGPoker has the right to investigate and remove the players once it’s confirmed.
